For 20 years I sat at a desk 8-12 hours a day, and while I did workout it wasn't consistent and when I was busy balancing my corporate career and my family some times fitting fitness in was hard if not impossible. So I started fitness groups at work, making competitions and routines that my co-workers enjoyed and kept our stress levels down. When it came time for me to retire and look at the next chapter in my life, going into the fitness industry was a no brainer for me.
One of the things I noted from speaking with my co-workers is that they had balance, and mobility issues due to hip flexors and glutes not working properly. Why didn't they work properly you ask... because we were always sitting so those muscles didn't have to work. Our shoulders were always hunched over due to sitting at the computer all day or on our phones, tablets. etc. with these observations I decided that I needed to help my fellow desk worker with exercises that they can do to fix these issues. I researched and I found out that NO ONE really worked with these problems unless they were in Physical or Occupational Therapy, which is great for diagnosis but insurance will only pay for it for so long... that is where I come in, I will work with your therapist and we will come up with a plan to continue your recovery and improvement.
Once I went down the fitness rabbit hole, I also found out that most Personal Trainers don't address menopause and the issues you could be experiencing due to this life changing event. As a post menopausal woman I wanted to know more so that I could help women who are finding it frustrating to lose the weight or have muscle or bone degradation due to hormonal changes. Everyone is different but I can and will help you to reach those weight and fitness goals.
Lastly my explorations brought me to the senior population, there is so little out there for people who have done so much in their lives and want to stay as active as possible but may be developing age related health or mobility issues. I will work with you and your doctors to help you get the best life you can have with less pain and better movement.
I provide full traditional Personal Training as well as Yoga Instruction, including Hatha, Vinyasa, and Chair Yoga techniques.
